INFJ-T: Here’s What You Can Expect

-

It’s a pretty big world out there. That fact is well known to the INFJ-T. Possibly the rarest subtype in the MBTI, INFJ-Ts are more alone in this world than other sets of people. If you have an INFJ-T as a friend or if you are one yourself, finding out more will certainly help.

So, that’s exactly what we are going to tackle today. What can you truly expect from an INFJ-T?

Exploring the Life of the INFJ-T

The T in INFJ-T stands for Turbulent. This personality type takes a laid-back approach to their life. This affects their decision process as well as their interactions with others.

While this is true, INFJ-Ts share most of their main functions with other INFJs. INFJ-Ts are more likely to be type 4s than any other type. If they are type 4, they are more likely to have type 5 as a wing.

Strengths of the INFJ-T

1.      More Adaptable

INFJ-Ts are often more adaptable than their counterparts. One reason for this is their need to avoid mistakes.

Thus, this type will learn from their past experiences and make the needed changes. They might also adapt to new situations faster. With this quality, INFJ-T might see new opportunities rise up for them.

However, the ability to take these opportunities is another discussion altogether.

2.      Warm and Considerate

INFJs are definitely in touch with their emotions. However, the turbulent INFJs take this to a whole new level. They are warm and feel the issues others face deeply.

This is especially true of those that are close to them. INFJ-Ts are true empaths and will help others with their issues when they can. People often feel that the INFJ-Ts have their best interests at heart.

3.      Careful and Meticulous

INFJ-Ts are more concerned about making mistakes. Thus, they will often carefully analyze their options before taking action.

This generally has its benefits. INFJ-Ts are more likely to spot a mistake at the early stages. They are detail-oriented and will spot flaws easily.

Most INFJ-Ts will feel content with their final decision.

4.      Close to Super Introverts

INFJs are usually introverted extroverts. This means that while they enjoy spending time alone, they also like to socialize to a considerable extent.

With turbulent INFJs, this is a bit different. They enjoy their alone time more and are closer to being super introverts.

5.      More Likely to Listen to People’s Opinions

INFJ-Ts are more likely to consider what people think before making a decision. This does not refer to just anyone. They will only consider those whose opinions matter to them.

This has some interesting benefits. INFJ-Ts will be able to see other perspectives of the matter. This generally leads to better decisions. It also means that people feel appreciated and validated by this personality type.

6.      More Diplomatic

INFJs are notoriously stubborn. This usually happens when their values are threatened. INFJs find it easy to stand their ground despite a lot of pressure.

INFJ-Ts, on the other hand, will be a lot more diplomatic. They will make changes when they can and negotiate issues with others. They are less stubborn and are quite flexible.

Weaknesses of the INFJ-T

1.      People-Pleasers

While INFJs are not likely to be people-pleasers. INFJ-Ts have a higher chance of falling into this bracket.

Their need to consider everyone’s opinion and to be flexible might see them bend over more than they should. While this is true, this will never go overboard. However, people will definitely find it easier to get their way when dealing with this subtype.

2.      INFJ-T and Dealing with Emotions

INFJs are very sensitive people. Thus, emotions make up a big part of their lives. Most INFJ-Ts will be affected by their emotions negatively.

Thus, hard times or challenging situations might take a toll on them. They might withdraw, lose confidence, or simply give up in these situations.

INFJ-Ts need to remind themselves that these things happen to everyone. There are simply no exceptions.

3.      Less Confident

INFJ-Ts are less confident about their abilities and strengths. Thus, they might struggle with their self-esteem and confidence levels.

This can also take a toll on their decision-making process. INFJ-Ts might think or overanalyze their decisions and never really come to a conclusion.

Thus, their self-confidence problems might eventually lead to indecision.

4.      Complacent

As earlier stated, this personality type is more likely to give up or become indecisive. When this happens, implementing their plans usually suffer.

INFJ-Ts might become complacent. They might spend hours just being idle or doing irrelevant things. This can hinder their progress in life and leave their growth stunted.

INFJ-T and Relationships

Looking to date an INFJ-T? Here are some things you can naturally expect

·        Quality Time

INFJs love quality time. They want to get to know their partners on a deeper level. Thus, conversations that reveal the true self of others will appeal to them.

If you want to get closer to your INFJ-T partner, giving them as much quality time as possible is key.

·        Be Genuine

With this type, authenticity is treasured. Trying too hard to please them will just come across as fake. So, just be yourself. If they like you, they will stick around.

Look on the bright side. If you have to fake it with your partner, then there’s really no point being in that relationship.

·        Long-Time Partner

Like most INFJs, this personality type is idealistic. They have certain expectations they want in a partner. One of them is long-term plans.

They are on the search for long-term relationships. To them, these types of relationship are more fulfilling and valuable. People are different and there can be some exceptions.

However, if you are dating an INFJ-T, this is something you should keep in mind.

·        INFJ-T and Compatibility

The natural partners of the INFJ-T are the ENTP-A and the ENFP-A. While this is true, it is still possible to have a meaningful relationship with other personalities.

Growth Tips for INFJ-T

  • Negative emotions never help the situation. Taking actions do. So, try not to get too weighed down by mistakes or challenging situations.
  • Complacency will never get you to where you want. Avoiding it will help you on your journey.
  • While you have idealistic dreams and wants, the majority of life is realistic. Bear that in mind throughout your journey in life.
